MAY 22,2021: CHINA ULTRA-MARATHON DISASTER Twenty-one people, including two of China’s top marathon athletes, died after freezing rain and high winds struck a 62-mile mountain race in northwestern China, local officials said on Sunday.
Jan 15 2022 – MOST INTENSE LIGHTNING EVER: An undersea volcano erupted today near the Pacific island of Tonga, sending large tsunami waves crashing on shore and people rushing to higher ground.

March 24-27, 2022 – EF-3 TORNADOES ACROSS 3 STATES: An EF4 tornado moved through the towns of Rolling Fork, Midnight, and Silver City in western Mississippi, causing catastrophic damage and many fatalities. Multiple tornado emergencies were issued for that tornado and two subsequent EF3 tornadoes from the same supercell that struck Winona and Amory.

March 31-APRIL 1 2022 – TORNADOES ACROSS THE MIDWEST 146 tornadoes touched down; 115 occurred on March 31 alone. The outbreak ranks third or fourth worldwide for producing the most tornadoes in a 24-hour period, with 136 tornadoes occurring between 19:00 UTC March 31 – 19:00 UTC April 1.

APR 13 2022 – SOUTH AFRICA FLASH FLOODING – The heaviest rains in 60 years pummeled Durban. According to an AFP tally, the storm is the deadliest on record in South Africa. The death toll from devastating floods in and around the South African port city of Durban has risen to 306, the government said Wednesday, after roads and hillsides were washed away as homes collapsed.

The first state of emergency was declared in Alberta and hundreds of blazes have since broken out across the country, with more than 400 active fires as of 7 June. By October 6, 6,551 fires had burned 184,961 square km, or 5% of the forest area of Canada with 772 wildfires active, and 346 were deemed “out of control”

June 15 2023 – TORNADOS ACROSS USA – There were over 185 storm reports across the United States on Thursday as another round of severe weather impacted much of the country.Seven tornado reports have occurred so far, with four in Oklahoma, two in Texas and one in Michigan.The most significant tornado was the one that moved through Perryton, Texas and led to at least three fatalities.

Nov 25-27 2023 – CRIMEA WINTER STORM – Over 400,000 people in Crimea were left without power on Monday, after hurricane force winds and heavy rains battered the peninsula over the weekend with wind speeds of over 140 kilometres per hour in some places. The dolphin pens in Sevastopol harbor are gone as a result. They may have been sunk or washed away. It is plausible that some or all of the trained dolphins have been freed.
